Regret::    Regret can numb one's self. It eats at the soul until it reaches the heart of the flesh and builds. It builds brick by boring brick. It builds hurt by piercing hurt. It builds and builds and builds and builds... until one day the sharp pain of regret numbs, to be forgotten unless reminded of. It is the opposite of soothing, in fact, it seethes into happiness and soils a life. More often than not, regret is caused by a person's mis-actions. It is ironic how one's actions can affect many other's well being.

Untitled Story:: PROLOGUE ::PROLOGUE::

The first came with gaping jaws.
Its red eyes glinted against the fire's glow.
Bright red slits of anguish.

Smoke filled the air, causing frantic villagers to cough violently.
Some coughed clots of scarlet blood. Others were laid out, unconscious, at the feet of a young girl, skin the dirtied gray color of soot due to the ravaging fires.
Her unwashed brown hair lay limply as she rose and brushed herself off.

       Her vision had blurred a bit-a feature she quite wasn't used to.
